Supporting God’s work

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

On Sunday, November 13th, Granite City Church had the privilege of hearing from our dear friend and ministry partner, Dr. Audrey Matimelo. Dr. Audrey is the co-founder and executive director of Zimele Wethu Foundation, a South African program working to build self-sustaining communities and to promote empowerment for women and youth in rural and township settings. Granite City Church has been blessed to partner with Zimele Wethu in many different ways throughout the life of our church, and it was an inspiration to meet Dr. Audrey in person and hear from her how she learned to hear God's vision for her life, how God is working in transformational ways in South Africa, and how we, as a church, can continue to support this important ministry.  Through the great generosity of our Granite City attendees, we were able to raise a total of $6,020 on Sunday for the Zimele Wethu Foundation.

Groups from our church travel regularly to South Africa to observe and learn about Zimele Wethu's Christian community development initiatives. If this interests you, please reach out to Pastor Stephen Sharkey.
