Our Ministries

God has uniquely prepared you to serve the body of Christ

Worship Team

The Worship Team exists to serve the Lord and His church through praise and worship, and to encourage and lead the congregation to know the story of the Gospel and experience the presence of the Lord. A simple audition is required. The team rehearses on Thursday evenings and the time commitment is one to three times per month.

Tech Team

The tech and production team serves behind the scenes in projection, audio, and lighting, in order to facilitate the worship experience for the congregation throughout the service. The goal is to create an engaging environment that encourages everyone to join in worship, whether it be through singing, praying, listening to the Word being preached, or joining in with the reading of Scripture.

Welcoming Team

Psalm 84 says 'it's better to be a door holder in the courts of the Lord, than to dwell in the house of the wicked.' That makes sense to us, and we consider it a privilege to serve God's church in this way. The welcoming team is the first point of welcome at Granite City Church. Their goal is to help newcomers and regular attenders feel welcomed and connected within the local church.

KidsRock Team

At KidsRock we always have fun together, but beyond that our prayer is that God uses the hour we have with the children every week to bring them into a relationship with Christ. You can be a part of that as a teacher or a helper. Serving on the KidsRock team requires at least a one time per month commitment as well as a CORI background check. Experience with children is preferred but not required.

Eat Together Team

Calling all foodies! Anyone who considers sharing food to be an act of love is welcome to join one of our meals-based ministries. Setting up coffee hour treats for Sunday service, helping prepare or serve food at special events, or making a home-cooked freezer meal to support someone in our Granite City family are all ways that you can use your kitchen talents to serve others.
