Stephen and I are big Star Wars fans and we were thoughtful about the way we introduced our oldest son Tyler to Star Wars. We waited until he was old enough and when he was, Stephen set up a projector and we watched it together on a big screen. It was so exciting and such a fun moment to see him take in that historic cinematic moment!
Because it was important to us, we made a plan and were intentional in sharing Star Wars with our son. But isn’t God more important than Star Wars? For your family, you might be intentional about sharing a favorite sport or a favorite band with your child. So let’s talk as parents and caregivers about what it means to share our love for God with our kids and ways to do just that.
The Parent Small Group meets weekly on Wednesdays at 8pm on Zoom. Over seven weeks, we will read through the book Teach Your Children Well by Sarah Cowan Johnson and discover what intentional discipleship of our children looks like. We will discuss how to make discipleship a part of the daily rhythms of family life. We will also have the chance to engage with and encourage other parents at Granite City. I hope you will take this step to take part in leading the next generation closer to Jesus.
