Juneteenth celebration

Monday, June 19th is the federal holiday celebrating the abolishment of slavery in the United States. We join with our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church, in affirming that Juneteenth reflects powerful truths about faith and freedom that are birthed from the African American experience - and are relevant to everyone.

We will host a free screening of the feature film Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom here at Granite City Church on Monday, June 19th. You're invited to join us from 6-8:30pm as we share a meal and fellowship together, learn more about the holiday and take spiritual inspiration in its significance. We will eat together at 6pm, with the film and discussion taking place immediately afterwards. The film is considered suitable for middle school ages and up, and childcare will be available for younger children. A free Our Daily Bread Ministries Juneteenth devotional will be provided to all attendees and anyone interested in learning more about Juneteenth and faith.
